About this talk

Participants ages 10-14 together with their parent/guardian will learn strategies to take charge of their emotional and physical safety with peers, family, strangers, and others - everywhere they go. We'll practice skills that can help stop, avoid, or end problems like bullying, harassment, and physically threatening situations. We'll also practice advocacy and boundary strategies for dealing with comments that feel hurtful or offensive - and different approaches you could use depending on where you are, who you're with, and whose behavior feels problematic. These skills are important for all people, regardless of gender - and, we'll use examples and scenarios that include unwanted, offensive, or potentially dangerous behavior that is or seems gender-based.
